Most of the people who find their way here are good at keeping going. They carry a lot, often quietly, and they're not always sure their situation is serious enough to warrant talking to someone.
Some are exhausted by anxiety or burnout that has been building for years. Some are in the middle of grief, or a life change they didn't choose, or one they did choose but that still feels unexpectedly hard. Others have simply reached a point where they're not quite themselves any more and aren't sure how to find their way back.
If any of that sounds familiar, this page is for you.
I came to counselling after more than twenty years in senior leadership: education, higher education, national public sector organisations. Work I believed in, but the further I went, the further I found myself from what had drawn me to it in the first place: the real conversations, the human moments, the times when someone feels genuinely heard and something shifts as a result.
That recognition brought me here. I wanted to walk alongside people rather than manage them, and to give proper space and attention to the questions that don't have easy answers.
I'm a person-centred counsellor, which means I follow your lead. What I offer is a steady, confidential space where you can speak freely and think things through. I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and am a registered member of the BACP. I bring a trauma-informed perspective to all my work and have specialist training in Flash Technique, an EMDR-based approach for processing trauma and distressing memories. I hold a Foundation Certificate in Single Session Counselling and have completed specialist training with the National Autistic Society. I'm attentive to individual differences, including neurodivergence, and if particular adjustments would be helpful, we can talk about what those might look like.
If you're unsure whether counselling is the right step, you're welcome to get in touch. A short message is enough to begin.
I also write about some of the experiences that can lead people to counselling. You can read those articles on Substack.
