Two Oaks Counselling

A calm, supportive space for adults experiencing anxiety, grief, burnout, and significant life change.

For people who are used to holding it together, and

finding it harder than they let on.

Two Oaks Counselling offers calm, thoughtful online counselling for adults who are feeling stretched, overwhelmed or quietly struggling.

Many people who come to Two Oaks have been carrying something quietly for a while, through work, loss, or the kind of pressure that doesn't let up. They're not always sure how to name it, or whether it's serious enough to talk about.

It is. And this is a space to do that, at your own pace, without pressure to have everything worked out.

Emma Sims is an MBACP registered person-centred counsellor offering online counselling to adults across the UK, including clients in London, Manchester, Birmingham and beyond. She specialises in anxiety, burnout, grief, life transitions and workplace stress, and works with professionals, high-functioning adults, and neurodivergent clients.

Working with Emma

If you've found your way here, something has probably shifted. You might be used to coping on your own, or quietly holding things together for others, and finding it harder than you let on.

I offer a calm, confidential space to talk and reflect, where you can take things at your own pace and feel genuinely listened to, without being rushed or judged.

I'm a person-centred counsellor working online with adults. Before retraining, I spent over twenty years in senior leadership roles across education and the public sector, which means I understand something about the particular weight of responsibility, and what it costs to keep going quietly under strain.

How can I support you?

People seek counselling for many different reasons, and you do not need to have a clear explanation for how you are feeling to begin.
Stress and Anxiety

You may feel constantly on edge, unable to switch off, or caught in a cycle of overthinking. Even when life looks manageable from the outside,  it can be hard to feel calm, settled or fully at ease.

Overwhelmed or close to burnout

You may feel things have built up over time, leaving you drained, unsettled, or unsure how to move forward, especially if you’re used to carrying responsibility or supporting others.

Life Changes

You may be adjusting to a change in your life, even if it’s something you expected or chose. Changes can bring uncertainty, and can leave you feeling unsettled or unsure of who you are now.

Grief, loss and serious illness

You may be coping with loss, or the impact of serious illness affecting you or someone close to you. It might feel as though the world is moving on, while you are still adjusting.

""I can honestly say Emma has changed my life. She listened, was kind and compassionate and gave me so many practical tools."
