Self-worth, confidence and boundaries

When you've lost sight of yourself

You might look capable, even confident, to everyone around you. But inside there’s a voice that says you’re not quite enough, and that sooner or later someone will notice.

Does this sound familiar?

Sometimes we spend so long meeting other people’s expectations that we lose touch with who we really are and what we really want.

You say 'yes' when you mean 'no', then feel resentful or exhausted.

Setting a limit brings a wave of guilt and worry about others might think.

Rest feels like something you have to earn.

Your inner critic is never quiet, you are speaking harshly to yourself

“Boundaries aren’t about pushing people away. They’re about making room for yourself in your own life.”

Why people often wait to seek support

If you’ve built your life around being reliable and self-sufficient, asking for help can feel like a contradiction. Focusing on yourself can feel indulgent, which is often exactly the pattern that needs attention.

Low self-worth isn’t a character flaw. It’s usually something learned, often long ago, and what’s learned can be looked at again.

How I can help

I offer a space where you don’t have to be useful, impressive or easy to be around. You can simply be yourself, including the parts you usually keep hidden.

Together we can explore where the critical voice comes from, what people-pleasing may once have protected you from, and what it might look like to give yourself the respect you give others.

I’ve worked for many years with people who seem to be holding everything together, and I understand how hard it can be to admit you’re struggling when you’re the one everyone else leans on.

For some adults, a late ADHD diagnosis brings a new way of understanding years of feeling out of step. This is an area I have a particular interest in.
