Relationships and communication

When the people closest to you feel furthest away.

Relationships can be the source of our greatest comfort and our deepest hurt, sometimes both at once.

It isn't only partners. It might be a parent, an adult child, a sibling, a friend or a colleague and the difficulty can leave you hurt, confused or quietly alone.

Does this sound familiar?

Sometimes there’s a clear problem. Sometimes something just feels off, and the same things keep happening between you.

You keep having the same argument without ever reaching the heart of it.

You feel unheard, or find yourself shutting down or saying things you don't really mean.

You’re walking on eggshells, or sense that others are doing it around you.

You notice the same pattern in relationship after relationship.

“You can’t change another person. But understanding yourself can change what happens between you.”

Why people often wait to seek support

Relationship difficulties can feel private, or disloyal to talk about. You might worry you’re overreacting, or that the problem is really the other person and there’s nothing you can do alone.

Understanding your own part, what you bring, what you need and what you’ve learned to expect, can change far more than you might think.

How I can help

I offer a space where you can talk honestly about the people in your life without taking sides, keeping the peace, or being judged.

Together we can look at what happens between you and others: the feelings underneath the arguments, the things that are hard to say, and the patterns that may have been with you a long time. From there, it becomes easier to communicate clearly, set limits kindly, and choose more freely what you want from the relationships that matter.
