Anxiety, overthinking and low mood
When your mind won't rest, or the colour has gone out of life
You might be lying awake at three in the morning, replaying a conversation from earlier in the day or rehearsing one that hasn’t happened yet.
You might second-guess decisions long after you’ve made them, or brace for things to go wrong even when there’s no real reason to.
Or it might be quieter than that: a heaviness, a flatness, a sense that the colour has drained out of things.

Does this sound familiar?
Anxiety doesn’t always look like panic. Sometimes it’s a constant low hum of worry, and sometimes the colour quietly drains out of things.
Your mind won't switch off, even when you are exhausted.
Your body feels it: a tight chest, a churning stomach, tense shoulders.
You’re functioning, but you haven't felt like yourself in a while.
Things you used to enjoy no longer feel worth the effort.

“Something shifts when thoughts are spoken and heard, rather than carried alone.”
Why people often wait to seek support
Overthinking can be very persuasive. It tells you that you should be able to reason your way out of it, that others have it worse, or that talking will only make it bigger.
Low mood works differently, but just as quietly. It can drain the energy you’d need to ask for help, or convince you that this is simply how things are now.
Many people keep functioning on the outside for months or years before they reach out. You don’t need a diagnosis, or to wait until things feel unbearable, to deserve support.
How I can help
I offer a calm, unhurried space where you can bring whatever is going on, whether that’s a mind that won’t stop or a heaviness you can’t shift. You don’t need to explain it neatly. Often it’s in saying things out loud, sometimes for the first time, that they begin to feel less overwhelming.
Together we can begin to make sense of what’s happening: what sets the worry off and keeps it going, what might lie beneath the flatness, and what you need now. We’ll go at your pace. On low days, simply turning up is enough.
For some adults, a late ADHD diagnosis brings a new way of understanding years of overthinking and feeling out of step. This is an area I have a particular interest in.
There’s no pressure to arrive knowing what’s wrong, or to fix everything at once. Small shifts often matter more than big breakthroughs.
